Task 2:Using Research Sources

Task 1 - Different Ways of Media

para1: Talking about task and page layout
Para2: Intro in research sources

The Library
There is many different ways of finding information and artist. For example the library. The library is a really good source for information, there is hundreds of books just on art and illustration. You can also take books out, photocopy pages/artwork or just read it in the library. The library is also very close to college making it easy and accessible at all times.

The Museum
Next example is the museum. Again that is just next to college and the library. The museum is a good source of information as there is a large amount of history and information, plus the people who work there can help with any questions you can have, there is plenty of books, and different pieces of art. But it can be a good way to find alot of information on one artist, if the artist is from the past, the internet can be hard to find the information you want, but if you have books, and artwork on the artist it is alot easy to see how they create work.

The Art Gallery
A art gallery can be a good way to see artist’s work. But it is limited to the artist that is showing its work. There are two different types of art gallery’s, first one is were 1 artist shows of pieces of work to make a sale, the second one is a open gallery, this is were a collection of artist will show there work to try and make a sale, this can be better in some ways as it can draw in a bigger audience but there is more competition. It can be a good way to get first hand research.

The Internet
Finally is the internet. The best way to find out information. The internet is accessible anywhere from your phone, tablet, laptop etc. The internet has a huge range of information, from Wikipedia which can be a reliable source of information, to website were the whole page is based on one topic. another positive of the internet is that you can find a artist and his work on the same page, and you can see more examples then you would in a book or a museum. It is also a great way to contact a artist you like, unless they are well known, you can message a artist about techniques and idea inspiration, something you cant do in a museum or a library.
